2017 will definitely go down in Starboy Wizkid’s calendar as one of the best year in his career.
This year saw Wizzy drop an EP, Sounds from the other side (SFTOS) plus receiving lots of honours both local and international.
His latest accolade which left many jaw dropped, was the Best International Act of the year by the MOBO Awards after he shook off competition from the likes of Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar and the rest.
After Wizzy’s outstanding performance at a concert in Uganda yesterday, the Starboy was crowned a king on stage, much to the admiration of fans.
Meanwhile, the artist recently addressed the preferential treatment dished out by foreign show/award organizers on their fellow countrymen.
According to Wizkid most show/award organizers award African artists backstage while presenting to others on stage.
The singer called for equal treatment for African artists, saying it’s either they’re shown same level of respect accorded their foreign counterparts or none at all.
“If you are not going to show us the same love you show your international artists on the main stage, don’t show us love at all. We have our own people”, Wizkid said. watch video here.
