News of the attack was revealed by journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who’s popular for his works with Boko Haram and ISWAP.
In a series of tweets, Ahmad gave details of the attack, read below:
Just in: Armed bandits in Zamfara abducted and subsequently killed a sister to a prominent politician in Zamfara, Senator Kabiru Marafa. Also, last night, bandits burnt down, Takoka, Tudun Wada Mai Jatau and Doka villages, killing scores and abducted 5 women.
Update: Multiple sources report that Hajiya Ade Marafa was slaughtered by the terror gang operating in #Zamfara, while the life of her husband, who is a village head, was spared. He was taken to one of their dens for likely ransom demands.
My earlier argument that there is a #BokoHaram component in the crisis in Zamfara is reinforced by the modus operandi of the armed gangs, esp how they execute some of their victims. No doubt, there is a terrorism component, there is also the cattle rustling component, ethnic etc.
Yesterday bandits killed seven soldiers in Bini village of Maru Local Govt in Zamfara. The corpses of the soldiers that died in active service are currently deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Gusau. Information on last night attacks are only trickling in.
14 persons, including the sister to Senator Marafa that were killed last night in Tudun Wadar Maijatau, Takoka and Ruwan Bore have just been buried. The death toll in #Zamfara and environs is not abating.
